Thanks to the generosity of two local donors, Amherst A Better Chance is now able to provide funding and logistical support for each scholar to participate in one summer enrichment program while attending Amherst Regional High School (either between sophomore and junior year or between junior and senior year).
Summer Enrichment Program options include:
- Travel programs (may include community service projects)
- Volunteer projects (e.g., working on a farm, voter rights projects)
- Academic enrichment courses at a college (e.g., Howard University, Johns Hopkins)
- Internships (in areas of career interests; connections made via Amherst ABC Alumni and Friends support network when possible)
The total costs of these opportunities will be covered by Amherst A Better Chance, including room, board, tuition, and transportation.
Amherst A Better Chance is profoundly grateful to our generous donors. These summer programs will provide truly transformational experiences for our Scholars and will substantially enhance the overall quality of our program that we can provide to such deserving young men, starting this coming summer and in the future.
