Please join us in welcoming Temistocles Ferreira and Nancita Alejandro, the Resident Directors of the Amherst ABC House! Together Tem and Nancita have 45 years of combined experience working with youth of color and economically disadvantaged young men. Temistocles has worked as the Residential Director (RD) for the Upward Bound Summer Program at UMass Dartmouth. Nancita is the current coordinator for the 21st Century Collaborative for Educational Services after-school and summer programs at the Amherst Regional Middle School. Both are excellent communicators with the experience to supervise and coordinate with people of all ages to ensure the highest quality of education, services, and organization. We are truly fortunate that this dedicated and highly-qualified couple are ready (in their words) to provide “love, stability, and nurturing guidance” to our young men, and thus “continue the legacy of this transformative program.”
Tem and Nancita’s three sons have all gone through Amherst Regional High School and they have a 4-year-oldlittle girl at home.
Rounding out the residential team is Crystal Colon, an ARHS paraprofessional, who will serve as the Assistant RD. In addition, Cid Ferreira will be continuing on as the House cook. We are pleased to have everyone back at the House.
